In 2000, a group of professionals from a local church in central New Jersey started a volunteering program to help new immigrants and low-income families. Our efforts ranged from handing out information about housing, insurance, and food assistance to providing family counseling, naturalization application services, living assistance for needy families and individuals, English as a second language (ESL) lessons, career advice, and professional classes/workshops.
In 2011, the ongoing program formally moved under Agape Community Services (a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization) offering benefits assistance, and several valuable services to the whole community regardless of race, gender, creed, culture, or way of life.
